Les Petites Voix, Lake Charles’s children’s community choir, is a choir for singers in 4th-12th grades with unchanged treble voices. It’s focus is on providing music literacy, vocal training, and performance skills in a nurturing and structured environment. The prep choir, 2nd and 3rd grades, focuses on music literacy, tuneful singing and encouraging a love of music among young children.
LPV will join the Masterworks Chorale for the Louisiana Choral Foundation’s Christmas and spring concerts. The 2015-2016 season will conclude with a performance at the LAKE Children’s Choir Festival.
Kari Proksch is the Artistic director of Les Petites Voix and teaches music at St. Margaret Elementary School in Lake Charles. She received a Diploma in Music Pedagogy from the Franz Liszt Academy Zoltán Kodály Pedagogical Institute of Music in Hungary. Mrs. Proksch also earned a Masters degree in Music Education from McNeese State Univeristy with a Kodály certification.
